Stellenbosch Street Soirees – The best way to experience the local culture

For about three months a year, basically every second Wednesday, people take to the streets of Stellenbosch for a Winelands party like no other. Streets get blocked off, businesses stay open until late and the whole area around Drostdy Street becomes one ‘lekker kuier’ – as the locals would say.

Stellenbosch Street Soirees are pop-up food and wine tasting events that take place on Drostdy Street, close to the historic Dorp Street. They only take place in the summer months and only about every second Wednesday. Foodies and wine enthusiasts basically plan their week around this party and for good reason. The Stellenbosch Street Soirees bring together all the great things about the Winelands: good food, a good country vibe and the finest, most delicious wines. Get your tickets and tasting glass on the street and start working your way through the jubilee of wine vendors and food stands. If you need a break, just relax on a hay bale under the string pennant flags, while you listen to the soothing sounds of the local acoustic band.

Closing time? No, keep the party going!

The food and wine vendors will start packing up a little before 8 pm, but the party doesn’t have to stop there. If the streets start to get empty and you’re still keen for a nightcap, why not head on over to our wine bar for another glass of something special under the oak trees?
